It was a great day for the members of the Eta Gamma and Epsilon Tau Lambda Chapters of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. at the 2015 Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant sponsored by the Texas Council of Alpha Chapters. The pageant held on February 14 in Dallas, Texas and featured 12 contestants representing the various chapters in the District.

After several rounds of competition the top seven candidates included Miss Adebisi Andenji Adele - Miss Black and Gold Eta Gamma Chapter (Prairie View A&M University) and Miss Kieara Hooey - Miss Black and Gold Epsilon Tau Lambda Chapter (Prairie View - Alumni).  The contestants in this round presented their talent routine, eveningwear and on-stage question.  When the final scores were tallied, Adebisi Andenji Adele was crowned Miss Black and Gold Texas, with Keiera Hooey as the first runner up to Miss Black and Gold Texas.  On hand for the crowning was Miss Nadia Green the outgoing Miss Black and Gold Texas and former Miss Black and Gold Eta Gamma. Incidentally, Nadia was first runner-up in the Southwest Regional Miss Black and Gold pageant in 2014.

Adebisi will represent the District at the Southwest Region Miss Black and Gold Pageant on April 11, 2015, also in Dallas, Texas.
