Francois, a sophomore Biology student from Missouri City, Texas, was named Miss Black & Gold Eta Gamma and was also the winner of the Talent, Evening Wear and Onstage Interview competitions. While Colbert, a junior Architecture student from Indianapolis, Indiana, was named Miss Black & Gold Epsilon Tau Lambda and was also the winner of the Personal Interview and Projection and Achievement Competitions. Both young ladies will receive $1,000 cash scholarships and will represent the chapters in the 2017 Texas Miss Black & Gold Competition at the Texas Conference of Alpha Chapters conference on February 18 in Houston.
Olivia Johnson, a junior Mechanical Engineering student from Cypress was named first runner up and will receive a $500 cash scholarship. Other winners include Marilyn Dunn and Jade Morris for Academic Achievement and Kaneshia Davis for the Swimwear competition.
The pageant producers are pleased with this year's event and looks forward to next year's pageant.
