Miss Black and Gold Pageant Information Session Set for September 16, 2021

It's pageant time again and the Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Competition is seeking candidates for its 2021-22 pageant.

A Preliminary Pageant meeting is set for September 16, 2021 at 7:00 p.m. in the Student Government Chamber, Willie A. Tempton Student Center at Prairie View A&M University.

Potential candidates should log onto Miss Black and Gold Pageant for more informational.

The meeting is designed to acquaint potential contestants with the pageant, rules, regulations and rewards for being in the pageant.

This year's pageant Co-Chairs are Wiston Ocoro of the Eta Gamma Chapter and Frederick V. Roberts of the Epsilon Tau Lambda Chapter.

Due to COVID-19, the pageant was not held in 2021, and the members of the chapters and the current title holders, Z'Nae Mangum (Miss Black and Gold Eta Gamma) and Melanie Hollis (Miss Black and Gold Epsilon Tau Lambda) are eager to support the pageant and the new contestants.

The winners of the pageant will compete in scholarship, personal interview, projection, lifestyle, talent, evening wear and onstage interview.  Scholarships will be award to the two titleholders and the first runner-up.  The winners will then participate in the Texas Council of Alpha Chapters District Miss Black and Gold in Sugarland, Texas on February 12, 2022. The winners of that pageant will travel to Oklahoma City, Oklahoma in March for the Southwest Region Miss Black and Gold.
