Announcing 2016-17 Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant

Pageant fever is in the air as the members of the Eta Gamma Chapter and Epsilon Chapter of Alpha Phi Alpha Fraternity, Inc. gear up for the 2016 Miss Black and Gold Scholarship Pageant.

This year's pageant, themed: "A Harlem Renaissance: Queens Take on Harlem” will feature some of the most dynamic, talented and progressive young women enrolled at Prairie View A&M University.  The event will take place at the university on November 10 at 7:00 p.m. in the Opal Johnson Smith Auditorium, Willie A. Tempton, Sr. Memorial Student Center.

Last year, Miss Jocelyn Eusery of Cypress was crowned Miss Black and Gold Eta Gamma and Miss Christina Baltazar of Houston was crowned Miss Black and Gold Epsilon Tau Lambda.  Both young ladies represented the chapters at the Texas Council of Alpha Chapters Miss Black and Gold Pageant and were named semifinalist.

The pageant is open to young women with at least 30 semester hours, 2.80 GPA and good citizenship.
